The concept behind the Fran Rivero Signature Light Study Mouthpiece

Professional orchestral trumpet players tend to use large mouthpieces, with sizes such as 1C and 1-1/2C or B, due to the sound they provide. Fran Rivero, with his extensive experience as a musician and teacher, aimed to deliver a sound as close as possible to these models, combined with comfort and lower resistance, for musicians who do not have the same practice time as high-performance players, so that with less practice time (Light Study) they can build the necessary endurance to use this mouthpiece and produce a sound worthy of a demanding musician.

Description

After extensive testing, the dimensions and shape of this mouthpiece, which features a slightly "V"-shaped cup with a depth between "C" and "D" cups, have made it a valuable tool in the musical life of trumpet players across all continents, being both comfortable and highly versatile.

Resonators and Mass (Weight)

Different designs and the optional use of the resonator vary the mass (weight) of the mouthpiece or the mouthpiece + resonator setup, offering important options in aesthetics, tone, and projection:.

  • Heavier setup (and mouthpiece with resonator): darker, velvety, and more centered sound
  • Lighter setup (and mouthpiece without resonator): more open and brighter sound
