MR stands for Medium Shallow in Portuguese.
MR Padovani mouthpieces have a depth somewhere between the M and RV Padovani models (D and E from Vincant Bach).
This intermediate depth has the advantage of enabling good results in high notes without losing much access, with good ease in the lower ranges and in solos.
We can say that the MR model is a model for first trumpet, but it is not a radical mouthpiece. Rather, it allows for a powerful presence in the first position, moving through all pitches with a present sonority that allows it to maintain leadership of the section in all situations.
Another characteristic of this model is that its standard rim is slightly wider than most other models, but not excessively flat, thus providing a very secure, comfortable, and agile support.
The standard throat is 3.70 mm, equivalent to the reference 26, which guarantees great volume and fluency in all ranges.
