Description
The Padovani Music CR5 Premium Cornet Mouthpiece with Resonator was developed to provide a balanced combination of comfort, rim support, ease of response, and the traditional sound of the cornet.
With a 16.25 mm (0.639") inner rim diameter, the CR5 sits between the CR7 at 16.20 mm and the CR3 at 16.30 mm. This size provides an alternative for players looking for a more precise adjustment in comfort and embouchure space without moving to a significantly larger or smaller diameter.
Its deep V-shaped cup preserves the characteristic tonal identity of the cornet, promoting a smooth, dark, mellow, and full-bodied tone. The combination of the 16.25 mm diameter and deep cup provides an excellent balance of comfort, response, and tonal body.
Its 4.20 mm throat, combined with the Standard backbore, provides good airflow, balanced response, and a broad sound, contributing to comfortable playing while maintaining the expressive character expected from a traditional cornet mouthpiece.
The CR5 Premium is an excellent choice for bands, churches, brass ensembles, brass bands, popular music, solo playing, and a wide variety of musical settings featuring the cornet, especially for players looking for a comfortable and versatile intermediate size while maintaining the full, characteristic sound of the instrument.
The CR5 Premium features the Padovani Music resonator system, available in a variety of finishes. In addition to its visual elegance, the resonator allows the player to explore different tonal and projection characteristics. The mouthpiece can be played with or without the resonator, allowing the response to be adjusted according to the player's preferences.
