The Padovani Music MR1 Light Mouthpiece with Resonator was developed for musicians looking for a combination of strong rim support, comfort, projection, and a bright, centered sound.

The main characteristic of the MR line is its wide, rounded rim, which is the widest rim among Padovani Music's conventional trumpet mouthpiece lines. This larger contact surface distributes the pressure of the mouthpiece against the lips over a wider area, providing a greater sense of support and comfort for many players.

Because of this characteristic, the MR1 is especially recommended for players who prefer substantial rim support while playing. Musicians who prefer a narrower rim, with greater freedom for embouchure movement and a more defined contact sensation, may adapt better to other lines such as the M or S.

The inner edge of the rim also features a rounded profile. This allows the lips to enter slightly farther into the cup while playing, which can make the mouthpiece feel slightly smaller than its nominal inner diameter might suggest.

Its medium-shallow cup places the MR line between designs such as the M and S lines. This configuration promotes quick response, more focused projection and brightness, without reducing the cup volume to the level of an extremely shallow mouthpiece.

The MR1 is an excellent choice for popular music, Salsa, Mariachi, Lead Trumpet, bands, and playing situations where projection, definition and sound presence are important.

Within the MR line, the MR1 offers a large inner diameter combined with the line's characteristic wide rim profile. As an approximate reference, its concept falls between the Bach 1D and 1E, considering a W-style rim.

Resonator

Padovani Music resonators, available in several finishes, provide not only a distinctive visual appearance but also variations in tone and projection. The player can use the mouthpiece with or without the resonator, adjusting the sound according to personal preference and musical needs.
