With this adapter, the player can use a Small Shank mouthpiece on a Large Shank Trombone, avoiding the immediate need to purchase another mouthpiece simply because of the difference in receiver size.
The adapter works as an interface between the Small Shank of the Trombone mouthpiece and the Large Shank receiver of the Trombone.
This provides the Small Shank mouthpiece with the necessary fit to be used on a Trombone designed for Large Shank mouthpieces, without permanently modifying either the mouthpiece or the instrument.
1. Gently fit the adapter onto the shank of the Small Shank Trombone mouthpiece.
