The CR2 Standard is a mouthpiece developed specifically for cornet, featuring a rounded and comfortable rim and a “V”-shaped cup, enhancing the instrument’s characteristic timbre: a velvety, balanced and full-bodied sound, with smooth yet precise articulation.
Within the CR Standard line, the CR2 is an intermediate model compared to the CR1 and CR3. In relation to the CR1, it has a slightly smaller inner diameter, with a feel close to a 1-1/2C-style trumpet mouthpiece, but with construction and cup design specifically developed for cornet.
Compared to the CR1, the CR2 offers a little more resistance, less fatigue, more range and a slightly brighter response. Compared to the CR3, since it is larger, it delivers a fuller, richer and darker sound, while maintaining good articulation definition.
Important: this is a model from the Standard line, therefore it is not compatible with the use of a resonator. The resonators used on the Premium models do not fit this mouthpiece. The manufacturing quality and measurements follow the same Padovani Music standard; the main difference is the external design and the absence of the resonator system.
