The Padovani Music Mouthpiece Adapter allows you to use a Cornet or Piccolo Trumpet mouthpiece on a standard Trumpet, giving musicians a new way to experiment with different sound characteristics, response and playing feel.
Made from brass with a silver-plated finish, it follows the same standards of craftsmanship and finishing used in Padovani Music mouthpieces.
The adapter works as an interface between the Cornet or Piccolo Trumpet mouthpiece shank and the Trumpet receiver. This makes it possible to use the mouthpiece on the instrument without permanently modifying either the mouthpiece or the trumpet.
1. Gently fit the larger-diameter side of the adapter onto the shank (external tapered section) of the Cornet or Piccolo Trumpet mouthpiece.
2. Next, gently insert the external section of the adapter into the Trumpet receiver.
3. Done! The assembly is ready to use.
The adapter is a small and delicate component. Never apply excessive pressure when fitting the mouthpiece into the adapter or the adapter into the Trumpet. Excessive force may cause the parts to become stuck and difficult to remove. Use only the amount of pressure necessary to keep the assembly properly seated.
Yes, some changes may occur. Cornet and Piccolo Trumpet mouthpieces are originally designed to work with the acoustic characteristics and dimensions of their respective instruments. When one of these mouthpieces is used on a standard Trumpet with this adapter, the resulting setup differs from a conventional Trumpet mouthpiece and Trumpet combination.
Depending on the mouthpiece, instrument and player, differences may be noticeable in tone, articulation, response and intonation. For this reason, the adapter should be considered a way to experiment with different mouthpiece and instrument combinations.
