The CR1 Standard is a mouthpiece developed specifically for cornet, featuring a rounded and comfortable rim and a “V”-shaped cup, enhancing the instrument’s characteristic timbre: a velvety, full and rich sound, with smooth yet precise articulation.
Within the CR Standard line, the CR1 is the model with the largest inner diameter and greatest cup volume compared to the CR2 and CR3. It is an excellent option for musicians who prefer larger mouthpieces, have thicker lips, or are looking for a feel close to large trumpet mouthpieces, such as a 1C-style reference, but with a construction and cup designed specifically for cornet.
Its sound concept is to deliver a full, harmonically rich, dark and velvety tone, enhancing the cornet’s sound identity without losing articulation definition.
Important: this is a model from the Standard line, therefore it is not compatible with the use of a resonator. The resonators used on the Premium models do not fit this mouthpiece. The manufacturing quality and measurements follow the same Padovani Music standard; the main difference is the external design and the absence of the resonator system.
